Laser Technology, maker of the
IMPULSE Laser, introduces the MapStar Angle Encoder Module. More than just an electronic encoder, the MapStar AE brings a host of new advances to portable angular measurement.

LTI’s MapStar Angle Encoder will integrate seamlessly with our Impulse survey lasers and other mapping equipment such as GPS. The MapStar Angle Encoder has the distinct benefit over the Compass Module of not being adversely affected by local magnetic attractions.

The Angle Encoder will calculate a turned, horizontal angle between some reference point and the object being targeted. It will always require a second, known point to be available to sight as a reference. This directional information is then coupled with range and tilt from the Impulse to provide all the data necessary to derive X, Y, Z coordinates for the target.

Developed for LTI lasers, by LTI engineers, the Mapstar AE is simply the best performing angular measurement device for portable, laser-based, survey and mapping applications. No matter what your application is, adding this module to the Impulse points your measurements in a whole new direction!
